The top female tennis player at Western Michigan University died Saturday after being stricken in her apartment, authorities said at Kalamazoo, Mich.
A preliminary autopsy on Amy Yeast, 21, did not reveal a cause of death, said Dr. Robert Janke, Kalamazoo County medical examiner.
Yeast, a two-time Mid-American Conference titlist, was having difficulty breathing about 6:30 a.m., her roommate, Kayla Skelly, said. Efforts by Skelly and paramedics to resuscitate Yeast were unsuccessful.
