Duane Cross scored 11 points, and former Point Loma High School star Charles Redding added 10 for the Gulls. Ken Williams led Robert Morris with 16 points.
USIU, which never trailed after building a 44-38 halftime lead, was outscored from the field, but the Gulls converted 28 of 42 free throws. Robert Morris was 10 of 18 from the line.
The Gulls’ next game will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Southwest Texas State at UCSD.
