El Toro : Family Stress Program Slated at Marine Base
The Family Services Center of El Toro Marine Corps Air Station is sponsoring a free program, open to the general public, on how families can better communicate and deal with stress.
The event will be held Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the station theater at the Marine base, situated at Trabuco Road and Sand Canyon Avenue.
The program, “Communication and Stress Management Survival Techniques for Marine Families,” was designed by the Muirlands Psychological Center in El Toro for Marine families living in Orange County.
Marine officials, however, noted that the program has general applicability, and the two-hour seminar is thus being opened to non-military families as a community service. The station’s Family Service Center said the program “plans a special focus on how families and teen-agers can cope with the pressures and challenges of living in an area like Southern California.”
