3 Films Lead Golden Globe Field

“Out of Africa,” “Prizzi’s Honor” and “Witness” were the top vote-getters in Golden Globe nominations announced today, with each garnering six nominations.
“The Color Purple,” a late-season release about the life of an abused black woman, also ranked high among the films to be considered for the annual awards by the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. Winners will be announced in a televised awards ceremony Jan. 24.
