Favored Johnica Wins Santa Anita Feature

Johnica, ridden by Chris McCarron, responded through the stretch to win the $40,000 feature race for older fillies and mares by three-quarters of a length Friday at Santa Anita.
Shywing, ridden by Laffit Pincay, finished second, with Gala Event third, another two lengths back under Bill Shoemaker.
Johnica, the favorite in the race, was timed in 1:22 1/5 for seven furlongs and paid $4.20, $3.20 and $2.60.
