In what began as a routine traffic stop, two East Palo Alto policeman and a police aide were allegedly stabbed by a man who had been riding in a car driven by his 14-year-old son. A police spokesman said Raphael Lopez Sr., 53, attacked Officers Rod Larmour and Renaldo Rhodes and technician Benny Pugh when they attempted to have the car towed. The officers subdued Lopez and arrested him on suspicion of three counts of attempted murder. Larmour was reported to be hospitalized in stable condition; Rhodes and Pugh were treated and released.
