Restrooms

What magical force is at play that mysteriously affects gas station restrooms rendering them inoperative? And what Great Power blesses the attendants so they apparently never have to use them?

I commute quite far to work and see clients every day. I usually fill up with gasoline every other day or more. But at nearly 80% of the stations I stop at the bathrooms are “out of order” or “we don’t have a public restroom.” Often, those with “out of order” signs are available with exertion of the proper threats (I’m diabetic and frequently require restroom facilities). This is burdensome on travelers commuters. It’s bad enough the “service” station concept of the past has all but disappeared, but the “Porcelain Palace” should be sacred!

I call upon city governments to step in where they did on posting gas prices to unwary drivers--pass ordinances requiring that each gas station have at least one operating restroom at all times! Personally, I have stopped patronizing gas stations that practice this “out of order” policy. And I suggest that others do the same until some formal action is taken.
