Baylor basketball Coach Gene Iba dismissed seniors Edwin Mitchell and Carlos Briggs from the team for disciplinary reasons.

The players were among seven suspended last month by the NCAA in a ruling concerning alleged recruiting violations. However, Iba told the Waco Tribune-Herald in Waco, Tex., that the dismissal “had absolutely nothing to do with the NCAA investigation. It was an internal matter.”
