Cheryl Miller sank three free throws in the final 1:17 of overtime Wednesday night to help No.2-ranked USC score an 83-81 victory over No. 15-ranked Ohio State before 10,184 fans, the largest crowd ever to see a women’s basketball game at St. John Arena.

USC (12-2) trailed for most of the game but outscored the Buckeyes, 12-4, in the final 4:39 of regulation play to send the contest into overtime at 74-74.

With the score deadlocked again at 77-77, Miller hit the first of two free throws.

Ohio State (8-4) responded on an outside jumper by Toni Roesch to take a 79-78 lead. But Miller, with 31 seconds left, hit both ends of the bonus situation to give USC the lead for good.
