South Laguna : Motorcyclist Is Killed in Collision With Truck
A motorcylist was killed and his passenger seriously injured Saturday night when they slammed into the side of a gasoline tanker truck.
The driver of the truck, Robert Neff of South Gate, told the California Highway Patrol he saw no one coming when he made a left turn from a service station driveway onto Coast Highway near Wesley Drive.
Raul Estrada, 27, of Laguna Beach, was driving north on the highway and was killed instantly when his motorcycle broadsided the truck, the CHP said.
His passenger, an unidentified woman about 25 years old, was airlifted to Mission Community Hospital, where she was reported in critical condition with major injuries.
Neff, 39, has not been cited. The accident remains under investigation.
