Board to Discuss Year-Round Plan

A year-round school program and alternative plans to solve the Los Angeles school district's overcrowding dilemma will be presented at a special board meeting at 1 p.m. on Feb. 3 at district headquarters, 450 N. Grand Ave., district officials said Monday.

The public may comment on the plans at two hearings scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb. 13.

The vote on a final plan will take place at the regular board meeting on Feb. 24.

The school board approved 10 proposals to solve an impending shortage of 55,000 classroom seats at its Jan. 6 meeting.
