Maybe John Robinson Should Take Another Look at Dieter Brock
The problem with great motivators like John Robinson is that they often end up believing their own propaganda. The ’85 Rams had just about everything, plus good luck. But Dieter Brock, as we all know, was in way over his head trying to lead the offense.
This fact became clear early on, but instead of admitting his mistake in picking this Canadian lemon, Jolly John took to that old American tradition, the uplift, trying to con all of us, including poor Dieter, that this sow’s ear was really a silk purse.
Brock, like Marc Wilson, will be lucky even to be in the league next year. Certainly, neither of them will be driving the local contenders.
