Newport Beach : Police Seek Witnesses to Hit-and-Run Accident
Newport Beach police Monday were seeking witnesses to a hit-and-run accident that left a Costa Mesa boy in very critical condition.
Claude R. Hubert Jr., 15, was in the intensive care unit at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital with injuries he suffered when he was struck while jogging in the 2000 block of Irvine Avenue at 7:20 p.m. Sunday.
According to Sgt. William McInnis, the youth was running with his sister, Patricia, 17, when he was struck. The girl, who was not injured, could only describe the car that sped away as a large, dark American sedan, McInnis said.
