AIDS Testing Clinic Shut Down

Share

A controversial AIDS testing clinic in West Los Angeles was ordered shut down today for violating city zoning codes. Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky said the clinic, which offers $100 AIDS tests and identification cards to those whose tests show no AIDS antibodies, has been cited for not providing adequate parking.

The City Council last week launched an investigation into the private, for-profit clinic and ordered a review of the firm’s building permits. If the clinic does not heed the order to close, Yaroslavsky said today that he will refer the case to the city attorney’s office for prosecution.
