Missouri Opens 22nd State Lottery in U.S.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. —
Missouri, once considered a part of the nation’s Bible Belt, on Monday became the 22nd state to sponsor a lottery.
The lottery started with a $1 instant game that offered prizes of $2, $5, $86, $860 or $86,000. The prizes will increase to a jackpot of at least $1 million.
