Temple City : Revitalization Meeting
The Revitalization Plan Committee and the city’s revitalization consultant will meet Friday to discuss alternatives for rejuvenating retail businesses along a two-mile stretch of Las Tunas Drive between Muscatel and Baldwin avenues in Temple City. The meeting with Downtown Focus, a Whittier-based consultant, is set for 7:30 a.m. in the Community Room at City Hall, 9701 E. Las Tunas.
Planning Director Jeff Shaw said the committee has determined that more new businesses are needed, and the meeting will assess which kinds are most desirable and what can be done to attract them. Shaw said vacancies and improvements for signs and landscaping also will be discussed.
The city hired Downtown Focus in October to direct the committee of about 25 business people and property owners in a six-month revitalization program.
