A six-day search in the Saline Valley for a missing Goleta couple has been called off, because no trace of them could be found, Inyo County Sheriff’s Department officials said. The ground and air search by Inyo deputies, the California Highway Patrol and National Guard brought “no significant leads or clues” to the disappearance of businessman Barry Berman, 35, and his wife, Louise, 55, Sheriff’s Lt. Jack Goodrich said. Authorities believe that the Bermans may have been victims of foul play.
