Santa Ana : Man Surrenders After Allegedly Firing Shots
- Share via
A man who allegedly had fired several shots at an acquaintance held a special weapons police team at bay for three hours early Saturday before surrendering, police said.
Police said the incident began at midnight when Armando Espino, 25, of Santa Ana fired five or six shots at Michael Dornack.
Dornack told police that he had driven into the alley behind Espino’s house at 928 S. Cypress Ave. to pick up his daughter and her friends. He said Espino confronted him and then fired the shots at his car as he sped away. No one was injured.
Dornack also said that he and Espino had a previous argument over their children associating with each other.
Dornack called police, and a special weapons team tried to coax Espino out of the house. Espino surrendered without incident three hours later. He was booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
