Head-On Crash Kills National City Man
A 24-year-old National City man died Friday night when the car he was driving failed to negotiate a sweeping curve and hit an oncoming van head-on in San Diego’s Skyline district.
Jesus Alberto Ceballos-Garcia died at the scene of the 6:49 p.m. accident, the San Diego County Coroner’s office reported. Ceballos-Garcia lived in the 2800 block of East 19th Street and worked for the Delp Plastering Co. of La Mesa.
He was traveling south on Cardiff Street where it turns into Skyline Drive, police said, when his subcompact car crossed the double-yellow line and hit a van.
The driver of the van, whose name was not available, was taken to Paradise Valley Hospital, where he was treated and released. San Diego police said a passenger in Ceballos-Garcia’s car, whose name also was not released, was taken to the UCSD Medical Center.
