Shooting Victim Identified: A bullet-riddled man’s body discovered along Santiago Canyon Road near Irvine Lake was identified Sunday by authorities as that of an apparent kidnaping victim from Los Angeles County. The body of Renee Camargo, 24, of Los Angeles was found Saturday by a jogger about two miles south of Chapman Avenue. Sgt. Ron Bailey of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Camargo had apparently been kidnaped Jan. 27 in the Santa Fe Springs area by two men who were seen handcuffing him and putting him in a car. Bailey said witnesses also reported hearing several gunshots during the abduction.
