Farm workers who were ordered to vacate a Corona trailer park by Feb. 1, have been allowed to stay another two months while Riverside County officials negotiate to buy the 18 acres of land from the owners, officials said Monday.

About 30 families of legal immigrants from Mexico remain at the trailer site that last year housed 150 friends and relatives. Ordered by the landowners, Corona Foothill Co., a subsidiary of Newport Beach-based Daon Corp., to vacate to make room for new development, the group has been unable to find alternative housing or other trailer parks that will accept their weather-beaten trailers.
