Butte College Assistant Joins Northridge Staff

Jerry Campbell, defensive line coach for the past two seasons at Butte Community College in Oroville, Calif., has accepted the same position at Cal State Northridge, Coach Bob Burt announced Tuesday.

Before coaching at Butte, Campbell, 37, was defensive line coach at Western State College in Gunnison, Colo., for a season and defensive line coach at Chico State for two seasons. He graduated from Chico State in 1973 with a degree in physical education. Campbell captained the Chico State football team in his senior season.

Campbell replaces Bobby Williams, who was defensive line coach for one season under former CSUN Coach Tom Keele.
