L. A. County Jail Inmate Found Dead
An 18-year-old inmate, awaiting trial on robbery charges, was found dead in a five-man cell at Los Angeles County Central Jail on Thursday, sheriff’s deputies said.
Another inmate, Rudolpho Gonzales, 25, has been booked on suspicion of murder in the death, Deputy Bob Stoneman said.
Gonzales, also being held on robbery charges, allegedly kicked Everett Wizar during a fight in the cell, causing Wizar to strike his head on the floor, deputies said. Jail authorities summoned paramedics, who pronounced Wizar dead.
Deputies said they didn’t know yet what caused the fight.
