Caponi, Washam and Dickinson to Play GNA/Glendale Tourney

Donna Caponi, the former women’s U.S. Open champion, Jo Anne Washam and Judy Dickinson are the latest players to commit to play in the $250,000 GNA/Glendale Federal tournament March 12-16 at Oakmont Golf and Country Club in Glendale.

In 1985, the Oakmont site was rated the toughest on the LPGA tour. It was the only tournament last year in which the winning score was over par for 72 holes.

Jan Stephenson is the defending champion in the tournament. She won by one stroke on the 72nd hole.

Also among those who will play at Oakmont is Pat Bradley, who was the second leading money winner on the LPGA tour last year with $387,000. Bradley tied for second lasy year with Amy Alcott and Barbara Moxness, one shot behind Stephenson.
