A firefighter was hurt and 20 people were left homeless by a fire that heavily damaged an aging South Los Angeles home. Antonio and Maria Romero and their children and grandchildren were awakened by firefighters breaking down their door as fire snaked up the roof of their home, Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said. The family got out safely, but a firefighter, who was not identified, suffered minor injuries in a fall from a ladder. The blaze, which was caused by an electrical problem in the attic, caused $50,000 damage, Wells said.
