Series of Showers Likely to Drop In on the Southland
Rain, wind and clouds returned to Southern California on Tuesday as the first in what could be a series of storms rolled in from the Pacific.
By late afternoon, intermittent showers were reported off the coast near Point Conception and in the Antelope Valley and Death Valley. But the National Weather Service said these were just a sample of things to come. Meteorologists estimated that most areas stood a 60% chance of rain overnight. And a few showers may linger this morning as the storm moves eastward.
However, a second weather front--stronger and wetter than the first--is expected to surge in tonight.
What with one thing and another, forecasters said, the area could stay cloudy and damp right through the weekend.
