Board of Education Seat Filing Open

Filing for one of the five seats on the county Board of Education is open between now and March 7, Al Olson, county registrar of voters, announced.
Candidates who live in central Orange County and who are not school employees may file for the vacancy in Trustee Area 1, Olson said.
The vacancy was created when county school board member Sheila Meyers moved to Washington. The remaining two years of her term will be filled by the person selected in the June 3 election.
Trustee Area 1 takes in all of Santa Ana and Fountain Valley, and parts of Tustin, Westminster and Garden Grove.
