Tom Payne Is Held by Hollywood Police
Tom Payne, former University of Kentucky basketball player who had started a new career as a boxer, was being held at the Hollywood Police Station Saturday for allegedly violating his parole.
Payne, 35, was paroled in 1983 from the Kentucky State Reformatory after serving 11 years of a life conviction for rape and sodomy. A police spokesman said the 7-2 Payne was picked up Friday in Hollywood.
“He is being held on an old fugitive warrant,” the spokesman said. “He will be held until we hear from authorities in Kentucky.”
