Bruin Tennis Team Downs South Carolina, 7-2

UCLA, despite its No. 1 and 2 players remaining out of singles competition because of the flu, coasted to a 7-2 tennis victory over South Carolina Saturday at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
Brad Pearce and Michael Kures were used only in doubles, but the Bruins had no trouble inimproving their record to 6-0.
It was the season opener for the Gamecocks.
