Man, 36, Fatally Shot by Monrovia Officers
A 36-year-old man was fatally shot by Monrovia police officers Sunday when he allegedly pulled a gun on them and refused to drop his weapon, authorities said.
Officers entered the man’s room at the Bradson Motel in Monrovia, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said, to serve a warrant for assault with a deadly weapon.
The man, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, reportedly pulled a gun from beneath the covers of his bed, Deputy Sam Jones said. When Monrovia officers told him to drop it and he refused, he was shot. He died later at Arcadia Methodist Hospital.
