Culver City : Health Center Receives Grant
The Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center has been awarded a $259,938 grant from the state Department of Social Services’ Office of Child Abuse Prevention.
Working with the Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women and the Santa Monica Hospital Rape Treatment Center, the center will provide children in preschool through high school with information and skills on protecting themselves against physical and sexual abuse and neglect.
The program will be used in the Culver City, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and Las Virgenes school districts and Region D of the Los Angeles Unified School District. An estimated 22,000 youngsters will eventually receive the information.
Although funded through November, 1986, the plan provides for presentations over a four-year period.
