AND NOW HERE’S THE NEWS: Boomtown Rats leader Bob Geldof, the man behind Live Aid, has signed with a top London publisher to publish his autobiography, expected out this summer. . . . Will the long-rumored film biography of Jerry Lee Lewis, “Great Balls of Fire,” with Mickey Rourke starring as the Killer, ever get made? Rourke’s press agent played down reports that the film would be going into production soon, saying: “It’s still very much on the back burner. We haven’t heard anything specific about financing or anything.” One stumbling block could be Lewis himself. Though he has endorsed Rourke as an appropriate stand-in, he recently voiced doubts about the film’s point of view, especially after the way Patsy Cline was portrayed in “Sweet Dreams.” Asked recently if he had any control over the proposed film, Lewis replied: “Yes, I do. A .45 pistol.”
