UC Irvine Men Beat Georgia Tech in Tennis
UC Irvine’s Bruce Man Son Hing and Mark Kaplan defeated Georgia Tech’s Kenny Thorne and Mike Chinchillo, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2, in No. 2 doubles to give the Anteaters a 5-4 nonconference win in a tennis match at Irvine.
Man Son Hing also won at No. 1 singles, defeating Bryan Shelton, 6-1, 6-3. Man Son Hing is 15-5 in singles matches this season.
Irvine will play at Arizona Friday.
In women’s action:
UC Irvine 9, Iowa 0--The Anteaters’ Lola Trenwith defeated Michele Conlon in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, to lead UCI (9-7) to second place in the BYU Invitational.
