Man Who Stomped Stepfather to Death Gets 11-Year Term
A man who stomped his 73-year-old stepfather to death, poured himself a drink and went to sleep watching television has been sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Lars Michael Olsen, 34, was sentenced Wednesday by Sacramento Superior Court Judge James Morris. Olsen had pleaded guilty to a charge of voluntary manslaughter in the Nov. 25, 1985, slaying of Richard Stambaugh in Sacramento.
A pre-sentence report quoted Olsen’s mother, Pauline Stambaugh, as saying her son had admitted the killing. She said Olsen told her that Stambaugh was a “lousy father,” and he suggested that she call a garbage truck rather than an ambulance the morning she found the body.
