Pick Six Pays $976,229 at Santa Anita

One ticket with six winners was worth a record $976,229.60 in Santa Anita’s Pick Six Friday.
Going into Friday’s card, a three-day Pick Six carryover of $593,732.48 had accumulated, and another $957,200 was wagered Friday by the crowd of 22,278.
The previous Santa Anita record Pick Six payoff was $429,171.20 on Jan. 21, 1985. Friday’s Pick Six payoff is the second highest return on a single bet ever made at Santa Anita, surpassed only by the $1.9 million won in the Pick Nine here this season.
Three men who declined to be identified bought an $80 Pick Six ticket for the winning payoff. The ticket also was worth the consolation payoff of $3,713.40 seven times.
The total winnings for the men was $1,002,223.40.
