Two news agencies and about 20 other business customers were without electricity for about three hours this morning, due to a power outage in the downtown area. The blackout hit Associated Press, City News Service and a number of industrial and commercial businesses about 6:20 a.m. in the area of 11th and Hill streets, according to Sandra Tanaka, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

The cause of the outage was not immediately determined, Tanaka said, adding that electricity was restored about 9:40 a.m. after DWP workers switched the customers’ load onto another power line.
