The owners of a bumper repair shop in Los Angeles pleaded guilty to illegally dumping chromium, nickel and acid solutions into city sewers and into pits located on the premises of their business. Carlos Gaitan Sr. and his son, Carlos Gaitan Jr., operators of the Bumper Shop at 808 E. Florence Ave., pleaded guilty to three felony counts before Los Angeles Municipal Judge Allan E. Ellis, who set sentencing for April 10. The maximum sentence is four years and four months in state prison and a fine of $150,000, the district attorney’s office said.
