Also under Orange County Philharmonic Society auspices, the Los Angeles Philharmonic will play four concerts at the performing arts center--Oct. 9, Dec. 6, Jan. 31 and April 25, 1987. Two of these concerts will be conducted by music director Andre Previn. The Oct. 9 concert, with violinist Isaac Stern, will be conducted by Kurt Sanderling; the Jan. 31 program by Esa-Pekka Salonen. The society has been presenting the Philharmonic at Santa Ana High School in Orange County since 1962.

The center will also present two other Los Angeles Philharmonic appearances, Sept. 29 and Oct. 1. Zubin Mehta has already been announced as conductor for the Sept. 29 concert, which will officially open the center’s 3,000-seat theater in Costa Mesa.
