VERO BEACH, Fla. — The Dodgers renewed the contract of Mariano Duncan, their only unsigned player, after the second-year shortstop rejected an offer of $150,000 Friday.
Duncan’s agent, Tony Attanasio, spoke with Dodger attorney Bob Walker, but after they failed to agree, Dodger Vice President Al Campanis announced Friday night that Duncan’s contract had been renewed.
The Dodgers renewed the contract for an estimated $130,000. Duncan earned the major league minimum of $60,000 last season.
The Dodgers will play their first exhibition game today against the Houston Astros at Kissimmee, Fla.
