Six hundred acres of eucalyptus will be thinned in Golden Gate National Recreation Area in Marin County because they are considered a fire hazard and a detriment to other plants, the National Park Service said. The government said it is not asking for public comment on the 10-year gradual removal process which is part of the 1985 management plan for the area.
