The Lazers’ 3-2 Win Over Kansas City Snaps a Five-Game MISL Losing Streak

The Lazers, already guaranteed their fourth-consecutive non-winning season, managed to snap a five-game Major Indoor Soccer League losing streak Sunday night by beating the Kansas City Comets, 3-2, in front of an announced crowd of 3,274 at the Forum.

Goals by Val Fernandes, Poli Garcia and Willie Molano gained the Lazers a 3-0 advantage after three quarters before Damir Haramina and Dale Mitchell each scored in the final 10 minutes for the Comets, spoiling Lazer goalie Tim Harris’ shutout bid.

The win improves the Lazers’ record to 12-26. The team has lost 12 of its last 14 games and is in last place in the MISL’s Western Division, 16 1/2 games behind the first-place San Diego Sockers. The Comets (15-25) are next-to-last in the division.
