Newport Beach : Commission OKs Plan for Commercial Complex
Despite neighborhood concerns about increased traffic congestion and whether new retail shops and office space are needed in the Lido Isle area, the city Planning Commission has unanimously approved an ambitious commercial plan for the Cannery Village and McFadden Square areas.
Plans for the 40-acre site on the Balboa Peninsula include a specialty retail shopping complex at the center of Cannery Village, in addition to other shops, offices and a parking structure.
The City Council will consider the plan at its April 14 meeting.
