Jaime Garza, the fifth-ranked super bantamweight contender by the World Boxing Council, will face Jorge Diaz in a 10-round bout on April 5 at the Palm Springs Hilton Riviera Hotel, it was announced Wednesday.

It will be the first professional boxing action at Palm Springs in 10 years, according to promoter Don Fraser.

It will be Garza's second fight in two weeks. On March 25, Garza is scheduled to meet Lupe Martinez of Mexico in a 10-round super bantamweight bout at the Country Club in Reseda.
