But Could They Afford to Pay For Themselves?
Isn’t the Hershiser signing, along with all the others, just ridiculously arrogant, an omen of a death knell for America’s favorite pastime? Two years, 30 victories for Big O and he receives $1 million.
It would be totally asinine to project his salary 10 years hence, but doesn’t it seem highly logical that he and the other starters on the Dodger team might decide to purchase the club.
Granted that my talents, and those of most spectators, could never be compared to these athletes, but it does make it a little more difficult to pay a substantial part of our hard-earned income to watch them perform.
