Terry Teagle scored a season-high 32 points and Larry Smith grabbed 14 rebounds Tuesday night, leading the Golden State Warriors to a come-from-behind 126-122 NBA victory over the Clippers.

The Clippers outscored the Warriors, 42-32, in the opening quarter and was ahead, 60-44, midway through the second period before the Warriors turned things around.

Golden State pulled within 71-67 at halftime and went ahead to stay late in the third period on a three-point shot by Teagle.

Purvis Short scored 30 points for the Warriors, reaching 30 for a third straight game. Smith, the Warriors’ other forward, had 16 points, mostly on tip-ins.

The Clippers’ big men, Benoit Benjamin and Kurt Nimphius, were scoring almost at will early in the game. But Smith and center Joe Barry Carroll, who finished with 24 points, more than held their own under the backboards the rest of the way.

Marques Johnson led Clipper scorers with 30 points. Benjamin added 24.
