Defending champion Juventus of Turin was eliminated from the European Cup soccer championship after tying 1-1 with Barcelona in a quarterfinal second-leg match played before 70,000 in Turin.
In the first leg in Barcelona, the Spanish club beat Juventus, 1-0. First-half goals by Barcelona’s Scottish striker Steve Archibald in the 30th minute and Juventus’ French star Michel Platini in the 43rd, completed the scoring.
