Share

A six-block walk commemorating the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in downtown Fullerton on Good Friday, March 28.

An actor portraying Jesus carrying His cross will lead the walk, titled “Way of the Cross,” which will begin at the First Christian Church on the corner of Harbor Boulevard and Wilshire Avenue. Scriptures will be read at six stops, including First Baptist Church, First Lutheran Church, First United Methodist Church and Church of Religious Science.

The procession will return to First Christian Church where Scripture passages will be read and hymns and special music will be offered.

Last year, the walk, sponsored by the Fullerton Interfaith Ministerial Assn., attracted about 100 Christians of various denominations, said Gayle Schoepf, an associate minister at First Christian Church.

“It’s just an opportunity for people from different churches to meet together in their central belief,” she said.

Those unable to walk are invited to First Christian Church at 12:30 p.m. for the conclusion of the service.
