The City Council, acting as the Monrovia Redevelopment Agency, has voted unanimously to purchase property at 415 W. Huntington Drive that is being used as a Lincoln-Mercury dealership.

The purchase price of $800,000 will be paid to the owner, Kenneth Kentner, in installments over the next 10 years and the property will be leased by the city to the present occupant, Lathrop Hoffman.

The agency, which has expressed interest in projects for strengthening new car sales uses on West Huntington Drive, plans eventually to develop the property as part of the West Huntington Drive Auto Center Development Plan, according to City Manager Jim Starbird.
