Raveling Named USC Coach

USC today named George Raveling as its basketball coach, marking his return to the Pacific-10 Conference after guiding Iowa for three years.

The 48-year-old Raveling replaces Stan Morrison, who resigned two weeks ago to become associate athletic director at USC. Raveling has a 221-74 record as a head coach. Raveling coached 11 years at Washington State, leading it to its first NCAA appearance in 1980.
