Malibu : Commission Alternate Named

Share

Madelyn Glickfeld, a planning consultant and former land-use chairwoman for the Malibu Township Council, has been appointed as an alternate to the California Coastal Commission, according to David A. Roberti (D-Los Angeles), chairman of the state Senate Rules Committee.

Glickfeld will fill in for Commissioner Duane Garrett when he is absent, with full voting rights.

Until January, Glickfeld represented the council before the commission and the county Board of Supervisors on development issues, including the planning for a Malibu Local Coastal Program. The council is a civic group representing about 1,000 Malibu families. It has sought limits on development in the environmentally sensitive Malibu area.

Though Glickfeld resigned as head of the council’s land-use committee to devote more time to her business, she is still a council member. She also serves on the Citizens Solid Waste Management Environmental Advisory Committee for the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County.
